About me

After spending 16 years in the education system as a teacher, dyslexia consultant and Special Educational Needs coordinator, I learned that for some children learning to read and write fluently is an impossible task.

Despite my own passion for literacy and knowing how to develop children’s literacy skills,  I felt frustrated because I wasn’t making a big enough difference to the children who struggled the most using conventional, mainstream methods of teaching.

EXTRA help in school and EXTRA effort from the pupil very often leads to little or no progress.  To make matters worse, the constant struggle results in a knock in confidence and lack of self belief.  I realised these children do not need extra as much as they need DIFFERENT. I decided to use my knowledge and experience to help families support their child’s learning with a different approach at home.

I left teaching to study as an NLP coach and Empowering Learning practitioner and started my business, My Amazing Mind. I now teach families new skills that ensure exceptional children with AMAZING MINDS are not left behind by the school system.

“I cannot recommend Zoe enough! Although the focus was on Isabelle's dyslexia, her support with teaching me ways to look at and deal with a child’s mental health and the day to day challenges we face was amazing, Zoe goes above and beyond to offer personal support tailored to your child and you.”

“I had a parent consultation with his teacher yesterday and it was awesome. She said his short story he did the other day was brilliant and instead of loads of words on the page it flowed properly. He’s getting 10/10 for his spellings and is asking to practise them the way Zoe showed us. His reading has shot up and he’s now reading at an age 11 level. I can’t thank you enough.”
