What is mental imagery?

If you have not heard of mental imagery, here is a simple explanation…

Mental imagery is the way we use ‘pictures’ or ‘video’ in our heads so we can think, remember and imagine. We are ALL using it ALL of the time but we are not consciously aware of it. For some, thinking visually is a super power that has not been harnessed.  

Mental imagery is a vital tool in the learning toolbox. I teach children how to control their mental pictures to help them with learning to read, write and spell. It is a very teachable skill that is fun to learn and will become their most valuable learning tool.
